+ The staff was very helpful and provided a lot of services- help booking a tour, travel arrangements, directions, etc. Also, the hotel was right on the bus line which made it really easy to get around.
- The staff did try to push the hotel restaurant a little much, which made it hard to get food recommendations from them. We were only in Budapest for a couple of days and really wanted to get out into the city rather than eat there.

They also found the time for a more personal, friendly chat which really made us feel welcome. They were exceptional, and we have every intention of returning some time in the future!
- I think it would be good to have a few teabags and a little bit of coffee so the guests can make a cup for themselves in the morning when they wake up.

A most enjoyable stay at Hotel Charles

+ I had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet, well heated, fairly spacious and most importantly of all, it was spotlessly clean. The small kitchenette with its two ring stove and minibar was an added bonus and was great for preparing snacks. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel restaurant is excellent. All in all, the Hotel Charles offers great value for money.
- The only criticism I have is that the decor was a little dated.

+ I found this hotel to be excellent for a three star hotel. Cleanliness and courtesy were super. Price of room was cheap for the services rendered.
- I would not say I was dissatisfied with anything but a small point I wish to raise is that I found the breakfast quite expensive compared to the rate of the room. The daily rate applied to the car park is also bit high. I felt that sleeping in the hotel was much less expensive than having breakfast or parking my car.

As it is very complicated to get to the parking place (without local help from the reception impossible), maybe you should post a map on the homepage to help customers (e.g. how to reach it, when you coming from Vienna, otherwise you have to drive into the main city, which can be very stressful).

Location was perfect for me because I attended a conference in the nearby Novotel. It takes 15 minutes walking to down-town.
- Couldn't work with the internet, neither in the room nor in the lobby. A small detail: poor flow of hot water in washbasin in the bathroom.

- The first night, I stayed in a room without AC (then moved to a deluxe room with AC). The one night of the total of 9 nights of my stay I had to keep windows open and the noise was terrible for most of the day and night. I recommend installing AC and double-glazed windows in all rooms to really upgrade this aspect to the excellent level of all other aspects of this hotel.

- We did not get a wake up call on the day of our departure. Both parties in our group experienced the same issue. We received wake up calls on every single day of our stay except on the most important day when we had to leave on time to catch our plane. I specifically reminded the staff twice the day before that its very important that we get a wake up call. The front desk clerk showed me that they logged it in but neither rooms got the wake up call.

- The look of the hotel, which is typical of the Communist era - but I realize there is not much you can do about that short of renovating the hotel (which would result in a major price increase). I was also annoyed by the noise level coming from the street - but again, not much you can do about that.
