Despite its reputation, the Gellert is in massive need of renovaton and rehabilitation. The faucet in the bathroom leaked. the showehead was broken. no fans in the bathroom. Lamp over my bed brokenb. Insane prices in the minibar. roomservice trays in hallways left for 8 hours. Walking down the hallways with the black white metal doors-- looked like an insane asylum or a set of meat refrigerators. The service for breakfast was indifferent at best-- i had to tell the waitressto refill the coffe pots twice. she was certainly not interested in re-filling my cup. It was not the luxury hotel experience i would have expected. At $25euro per night, it would have been worth it. At 140 euro per night, it was a total rip-off.
