Alex Pension is a fantastic surprise hidden just outside Budapest nearer to the airport. The pension is a huge converted luxury home with three floors for just four rooms (and the host couple). The furnishings are modern and beautiful but maintains that warm comfort of home. The bathrooms are also modern and western-styled. Above and beyond all is the friendly couple that owns the pension - Alex and his wife are simply a delightful and atentive to your every need. She makes you feel as if you are staying at your grandmums as she scurries about to help you in every way even to cook a fresh hot delicious homemade meal (for 5 euro or less). Alex provides a transfer service to or from the airport or train stations (15-20 euro) I can't say enough great things about my stay at Alex's. The nightly single room rate of less than 30 euro made me feel guilty that I was taking advantage. When did a hotel or pension ever make you feel that?
