- The fact that I was put in a completely different pension (without air con) to the one I had actually reserved was the biggest dissapointment. It was extremely small and so stuffy during the day time. Sadly I banged my head every time I stood up from the bed (it was an attic room and being quite tall actually did me no favours). The mattress had a life of it's own and made a terrible noise like a zombie gasping for their last breath each time you got off it. Don't even get me started on the sad excuse for brillo pads they were calling towels (luckily I always bring me own). After my first night I wanted desperately to check out and find somewhere more comfortable especially as I had booked this trip for my birthday. The pension onwer was not to be seen! not a single sole was around so this was not possible. In fact I struggled to work out how to unlock the front door and were it not for desperation to get out I probably would not have bothered but finally managed after struggling for some minutes to unlock the front door. When I did finally did check out there was a bit of hassle as they tried to charge me more than was quoted and also wanted me to pay for a tourist tax (I just politely stood my ground and kept showing them my reservation which luckily I had printed out before I left home). I specifically choose pension gelenscer (which I did not get to stay in for the the fact the tax was included, plus they had A/C and the website showed a beautiful view of the surrounding area). All in all, the lady running the place was very nice (when I did see her) but I felt that the Mr Gelencser whom I spoke to briefly on the telephone on my arrival should have been more honest and upfront about why they could not check me into pension gelenscer. His reason was there was no electric; despite the fact there were lights on in rooms within the building and the security light outside was enough to blind you. It was as bright as stadium lights and suggested there could not possibly be a power cut. He said he would let me know the following day but in my 3 days there I heard nothing from him nor his wife whom I met on my arival. All very suspicious indeed and not at all hospitable. I'm not sure if they just couldn't be botherd because of the language barrier (i.e. I only spoke english).
