+ Friendly welcoming really sweet staff - I felt like a honoured guest, a welcome friend - almost like a princess! Wonderful breakfast! Wonderful soup at the brasserie, but the two duck courses less so. And the termes - what can I say, wonderful, just what I needed! Rejuvenating. Lavish buildings, architecture, ornaments ...
- Bed was too hard for my taste. It didn´t stop me from sleeping well, though. I would have liked the hottest pool to be somewhat hotter - 39 or 40 degrees.

+ ich war stark von der Werbung beeinflußt, mein letzter Besuch vor vielen Jahren hat mir alte Reminiszenz wiedergespiegelt, die ich diesmal leider vermisst habe.
- das Hotel fällt leider langsam aber sicher auseinander. Die Zimmergöße entspricht der der damaligen Erbauung, gut so. Die Einrichtung könnte verbessert werden. Der alte Flair kann nicht nur ausschließlich durch Lakaien am Eingang wiederhergestellt werden. Die Therme entspricht nicht den heute üblichen Erwartungen eines SPA's, die kathegorische Trennung zwischen Männlein und Weiblein sollte fallen, bequeme Ruhemöglichkeiten (z.B. Liegestühle) anstelle biederer Sessel könnten mehr Entspannung und Inhalte geben. Das Buffet ist auch etwas antiquiert. Das Personal war bei unserer Ankunft präsent und sehr hilfreich, bei der Abfahrt jedoch etwas sehr desinteressiert.

- The spa attached to the hotel, now operated as a franchise, leaves much to be desired. It cannot be compared with the excellent way the Hotel used to run this side of the business. The atmosphere and the apparent lack of professionalism acts to provide only a thoroughly disagreeable experience. In the event that we return to the Hotel we will surely not repeat this particular activity.

+ The location was good and the spa and mineral baths were as expected and the reason we chose to stay there in oder to refesh from our long plane journey. The personnel were polite and helpful.
- The hotel is located in a very old building which in its self was appealing, however, apparently management does not maintain the facilities as it should be. The carpet is worn, wood surfices need to be touched up in places. The conditions present a worned look. The bahtrooms are quite dated. We had grea location and the room was adequate but accessories were lacking.

- At night The Gellert looks wonderful when lit up. Entering the foyer started to tell us a different story. Entering our room 376 "overlooking the patio or outdoor swimming pool" said it all. The view - over the road to housing could be seen if we dare to stand on the shabby paint splattered rusty and broken tiled balcony. the 2 single beds pushed together didnt allow the door to close, a hotch potch of furniture, no security safe,no airconditioning or fan in a room facing the southern sun on days with temperatures in the 30s, noisey and unable to close windows due to heat. SHABBY . It is in urgent need of update.

- I would probably not chose any more for the standard room category next time. Rooms are cleaned every day of course but not to the expectation of a 4-star hotel.

- The podiatrist that showed me to wash my feet without help. He was grumpy and seemed to not like his job. Aber...but...he was very carering and soft when he gived me the treatment. That was most important. He treated my feets with respect.

- the noise from the street which is beyond their control especially since I had wanted a room with a view to the Danube. That is not their fault. Changing the windows would perhaps spoil the nice Gellert façade. Yet I highly enjoyed the view of my windows!

- The hotel is in great need of sprucing up. The lobby is dark, and probably the same as it was after fixing it up after the war. The room door had a large area with a crack and paint was chipped off. The bathroom floor tiles were dirty. I test cleaned on with TP and soap and it cleaned up. The rooms was rugged with 12x12 indoor/outdoor carpet squares. The step to the small window/balcony was worn down and the paint was gone, just the undercoating. Room 410

+ The staff were professional, very friendly and helpful. The baths were tremendous and how wonderful that they were part of the hotel package. The breakfast was high quality and copious. The sheets were of an extremely high quality that is difficult to find today. The room was very dated, but charming. I had an amazing view of the Danube.

- the spa was the reason i chose the gellert. the staff there was unwelcoming and made me feel as if my questions or need of direction was a annoyance and intrusion in their day. i was planning on a massage but did not feel at all welcome in asking. the room small and like any other hotel room, the view was only there when i hung out of the window and strained my neck. rarely did anyone approache me and ask if i needed anything, and i usually had to say hello first.

- Clinliness, there was a cubic hair on the soap holder in the bathroom, not cleaned for two days of my stay, the area around the basin molded, leaking taps, all area around the basin was wet so I could not put my toiletries there. The room door was not closing properly so you could see the corridor in the bottom corner. Also closing the swimming pool at 6 made my choice of the hotel having no sense really.

I would like to talk to your management about bringing a group of ladies for a weekend in the autumn or winter to use the spa and also to have ballroom dance lessons. We have a local teacher and we would need the use of your ballroom during the day and evening. Please ask one of your event managers to get in touch with prices.
- The food was disappointing - particularly the bread which looked better than it tasted. My bed was not particularly comfortable. I was only given one bottle of shower gel.

- Room: bed was good, but chairs, wardrobes etc. rather worn out, too few places to deposit in bathroom. But what worries most: guests are asked to take on bathrobe in the room, but then you enter the hot springs through the public entry, where peopls in street cloths cross. Its not only insanitary, but also a bit frustrating. Further, the way to the bath hall is very long, and it's complicated to get a bath cabin

- I was most disappointed with the staff at the spa/bath attached to the hotel. Unfortunately, they were terribly unfriendly and not very helpful. The lady who gave me my message was the worst. This is not only my opinion but other people I spoke to staying at the hotel and going to the bath had the same opinion. I know the spa/bath is not overseen by the hotel management but the staff at the bath should get a lesson in customer service.

- The decor in the bedroom was so dated and looked shabby the bath seemed to have a lack of enamel and scratched your back and bottom. There was no handbasin in the toilet, so you had to walk through to the bathroom. Also there was no ventilation in the toilet!!! Otherwise, it was fantastic.

+ hotel staff on front door and reception desk were really lovely and very polite and helpful - the staff on the desk got us fabulous tickets for the 4 performances in the opera house - we had the best seats in the house and were very satisfied with that and loved the opera and ballet - breakfast was very nice and great selection - on first morning we got a shock as all the heaters on the food were turned off on the dot of 10am and they started to unload the food on to trolleys and take it into the kitchen - some people had certainly only got through 1/2 their breakfast but on the weekend it was much more relaxed even though they said breakfast finised at 10am they left all the food for much longer - so that was good - the thermal water spa was fabulous and Regina, the lady in the lift from hotel to spa, was absolutely a darling and so attentive to everyone - also I had asked for a room with river view and we got exactly as we wanted with big balcony and lovely view - so we were pleased with that - no problems at all during our stay - overall a lovely time and will definately go again !!..
- only thing which we noticed was the bathroom toilet had a smell which was a bit offensive - not dreadful but we certainly noticed it - as if drains were a problem and only other thing was the quick removal of food at breakfast on dot of 10am on weekdays which is a bit of a pity when people are still eating their breakfast - I know they want to get on to the next duties but they could give 15 minutes finish up time -that's all - great hotel - loved it

- That we had a room right next to the construction workers, who made a terrible noise, and made it impossible for us to have the balconydoor open and sit out there - not to mention to sleep after 8 a.m.! And we didn't like the fact, that the hotel allows smoking in some areas of the hotel, it's not very nice to sit in the diningroom eating breakfast, when there are people sitting right outside the breakfast-restaurant smoking. It can be smelled all over the restaurant, when they do. And one more thing; the beds were a bit too short. Otherwise things were good.

Orchestra members were intimidating to diners; drink ordered (Bacardi and coke called a Cuba Libre) was on card at 2000huf - when bill came it was 2200huf! 10% added to the bill automatically. In the spa which is not necessarily run by the hotel but by another company, two American girls discussing it said it was "the least user-friendly experience" of her life. Agreed.

- Room was a disgrace. Dirty and badly maintained. Stained carpets, wallpaper torn. Rated 2 star, if that. When brought to concierge's attention refused to change room and indicated if we gave him a bribe then maybe he would change room. Due to stay 3 nights we checked out of both rooms after 1. General manager apologised in morning and stated he was having difficulties with certain staff. Informed of room condition he did not offer any compensation just explained the hotel was being renovated. Unfortunately not the 2 rooms we had. Resent paying 4 star prices for 2 star accomodation. I have stayed at the Gellert before some 12 years ago, sad to see it has declined so much.

- very old walls, furniture, details... the hotel needs a full renewal. the price is very expensive for the quality. noisy room. waitress in breakfast very unpolite. The hotel should inform clients that they are doing works, parts closed etc. The painting, walls, furniture, details are very old and seems dirty.
