- Room was a disgrace. Dirty and badly maintained. Stained carpets, wallpaper torn. Rated 2 star, if that. When brought to concierge's attention refused to change room and indicated if we gave him a bribe then maybe he would change room. Due to stay 3 nights we checked out of both rooms after 1. General manager apologised in morning and stated he was having difficulties with certain staff. Informed of room condition he did not offer any compensation just explained the hotel was being renovated. Unfortunately not the 2 rooms we had. Resent paying 4 star prices for 2 star accomodation. I have stayed at the Gellert before some 12 years ago, sad to see it has declined so much.	Overall 410 Staff 2 Cleanliness 2 Value for money 2 Comfort (room) 2 Services 4 Dining 6 Locaiton 10

My colleagues and I were attending a Rotary meeting in Budapest, something we do every year. This year the hotel spoiled our stay and our Rotary friends in Hungary were informed. If the hotel was being renovated the company must know how bad the rooms are, then why charge full price before renovation is complete?
