+ We chose the "upgraded" rooms. They were comfortable and the bathroom was functional and nice, too. The lobbubar was OK and the personnel friendly. The swiimingpool needed upgrading but it was nice to have one. I swam almost every day.
- The construction of streets around the hotel. The location could have been slightly more closer to the heart of the city, but this was OK too. The breakfast was very expensive, so we chose to eat breakfast in a nearby cafe.

+ I loved the staff and how helpful they were. Especially after my mother injured her foot. They had a wheelchair at the ready. The staff was friendly and helpful and warm. Very professional and excellent at their profession.
- I would have given my eye teeth for an ironing board in my room. I missed the availability of using the ironing board in the facility on the third floor. My fault.

+ Three day stay in a great hotel. Location was perfect and saff very friendly and spoke English well. Breakfast was very good and large assortment available. Clean and orderly. 5 stars

+ a very nive place for a short stay, very well located near downtown but no so close to the stricly tourist´s areas. nice and efficient staff - their english, along with their kindness were remarkable. a "friendly smoking place"... both my gal and I reallly apreciated it. no doubt we´ll recomended it to friends and relatives interested in spending a few days in budapest. obviously, we will also come back to the place while our next trip to hungary.

+ I always value Safety and Location the most, so this time, due to unforeseen circumstances my female friend could not join me so I stayed in a Deluxe Single room, which is adequate for a solo traveler. I always felt safe in, and around the hotel. The hotel is in a prime location. One can walk and/or chose to use the public transportation (i.e., underground train, buses, trams) adjacent to the hotel. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful; however, a handful still need training in either, customer service and/or international public relations (these were aloof and unfriendly.). As a world traveler, having stayed at five and/or four star hotels before, l highly recommend the Mercure Budapest Korona.
- At this time and age, and also as an added feature, the hotel should provide Internet service to its customers in the guest rooms. The Business Center where one can (sometimes) access the web charges a fee in 30 min. increment(s). I also felt that The Business Center should be in a better location and/or provide better privacy to guests using the web as other people passing by can easily read what is being display on one's screen. I felt uneasy using the web there. Moreover, the Internet Service should provide more secure features, too. I was dissatisfied with the bedding as it was smelly. Perhaps the thick comforters and bedspreads need to be replaced with new ones. Customer Service: As a former "Customer Service Training Manager," I treasure courteous, attentive, and helpful service; therefore, I was happy that the majority of the staff were very courteous, helpful, and friendly. There were only a handful that in my opinion need to go through your customer service training class again. These few personnel either, ignored me or were unfriendly to me. I did not like the taxi service across the street from the hotel and the one that hotel guests are highly encouraged to use. These particular taxis charge "flat rates" which are much higher than what the City of Budapest recommends to tourists. My advice to tourists: Familiarize yourself with the literature in the various city guides and maps, so as not to "be taken."
