Buda Arboretum

The Buda Arboretum was initiated in the winter of 1893/94, on three hectares of land around the buildings of the Royal School of Horticulture (the predecessor of the present University). It now covers 7.5 hectares and is surrounded by the constantly growing city of Budapest. The site is situated on the southern slope (near the foot) of the 235 m-high Gellért Hill.

The Arboretum is open to the public from 8 am to 6 pm every working day (entrance is free) and for registered groups on weekends.
