Bouyed by the success of its maiden appearance last year, Budapest’s sun lovers are again enjoying the feeling of sand beneath their toes at the city-centre beach on the banks of the Danube.
Only this year, it’s bigger, better and more beautiful, and inspired by France’s hugely popular “Paris plage”, the Budapest beach is open for three weeks this year instead of just two.“After the very favourable reception in 2003, we are proposing ’Budapest-plage’ over 1.5 kilometres (just under a mile) with programmes for all ages and a duration of three weeks until August 29,” organisers said.
