Interesting exhibitions and various cultural programmesRoyal Palace of Gödöllő is a beautiful building with a most pleasant park, a museum with interesting exhibitions and a place which offers various cultural programmes throughout the year. The baroque Palace has 26 completely renovated rooms, introducing the interior of royal suites in Hungary. The front gardens of the huge, 26-hectare surrounding park, have also been recently renovated, and reflect the beauty which drew Emperor Francis Joseph and his wife Empress Elisabeth to this quarter of the Empire on most autumn and spring months during their reign. The Museum has 3 permanent exhibitions, featuring 'The era of the Grassalkoviches', the 'Apartments of Francis Joseph and Queen Elisabeth', and Queen Elisabeth, the beloved 'Sisi' of the Hungarians. Special exhibitions include: 'If the walls could talk...' - Exhibition in the bath and in the flower house (April 20th - October 31st), and 'Hungarian ceramic creative colonies' (August 4th - September 5th). Cultural programmes this summer include the Palace Concert Chamber Music Festival (June 24th - July 5th), a Summer Theatre (July 8th-11th and August 11th-12th), the Baroque Palace Days - an opera festival (August 5th-7th), and the concert of the Gödöllő Brass Orchestra (August 28th).
