I did love the thermal baths which seem remarkably unchanged. And I can see that with a makeover it could still be a charming hotel. But the mid-20th century renovations, now showing their age, make it a bit dreary. Having said that, for the money it was a great place to stay. I normally like to be as central as possible and the Gellert is not that, but it is an interesting location for seeing the Buda side of things and easy (and not too far) from the action in Pest."
