Business Sojourn at the Gellert Hotel

Review of Danubius Hotel Gellert, Budapest, Hungary

"First impressions count. My wellcome at the check in counter was a realy friendly one. This experience continued wit every staff member I met: in the restaurants, at the reception, etc. Pity I could not benefit from the bath since I was at work during its opening hours."

Peaceful Weekend on Hotel Boat Fortuna

Review of Fortuna Boat Hotel, Budapest, Hungary

"The mini bus took us straight to the Hotel Boat from the airport. The Hotel is on the river just opposite Margrit Island, and has a very peaceful feeling. Our room looked over the river. It was small - a boat cabin, but well provided with mini-bar, TV and storage space. No desk, though other rooms might have one. The atmosphere on board was smart and stylish, with polished wood panelling and chandeliers. The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful in all matters. The buffet breakfast was of average standard, with fruit, veg, bread, eggs and meat dishes. There were trams along the river into Pest and also across the bridge in Buda. After midnight taxis were expensive. The neighbourhood had nice restaurants and shops. Our thermostat wasn't working properly and you couldn't open the windows, so our room was a bit stuffy at night. Also, as there were no chairs in the room, only stools, I thought there could have been more pillows or cushions to help turn the beds into sofas in the day. Those were our only complaints. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The room was quaint and clean, and just the fact of being on the river made every morning and evening quite magical. "
