Lovely two days in the charming Gellert!

Review of Danubius Hotel Gellert, Budapest, Hungary

"A charming, older hotel, well-situated for getting about the city and offering wonderful rooms, superb spa facilities and helpful staff. It was our first introduction to Budapest and this hotel made our first two days here special."

Better than the average airport hotel.

Review of Airport Hotel Stacio, Vecses, Hungary

"A well designed hotel only a few minutes drive from Budapest airport. After poor food in Romania, I fell upon the dining room and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the evening meal - much better that the usual airport hotel. However, breakfast was a little disappointing with no fresh fruit and only scrambled eggs quietly chilling on a hot plate. The room, which was clearly a double from which the double bed had been removed, was basic and in need of refurbishment. However, on the whole, I would recommend this hotel for the overnight traveller and will certainly stay there again. "

Disillusioned in Budapest Gellert

Review of Danubius Hotel Gellert, Budapest, Hungary

"I first stayed in the Gellert in 1995 and have been there several times over the years. I was in Budapest recently for the first time in 5 years and was so disappointed with the Gellert. Nothing had changed in fact it was like the bad old communist days! Apart from the reception and cleaning, the staff were cranky, slovenly and ill -trained. Breakfast was terrible-cheap watered down fruit juices, lukewarm water for tea and a poor selection of cold meats and cheeses!"
