Pest County Budagyöngye Hospital, the Pest Megyei Budagyöngye Kórház is situated in the northwestern part of downtown Budapest, in the 2nd district. It is part of the Pest County St. Rokus Hospital, the Pest Megyei Szent Rókus Kórház. The hospital building used to be a monastery until 1950, turned into a lung therapy institution. The first medicine sections were established in 1975, and this is when it joined the Rókus Hospital. Functioning independently between 1985 and 1997, it was made part of the mother institution again, and has been operating under its umbrella since – the official name of the hospital is thus Szent Rókus Kórház és Intézményei Budagyöngye Kórháza.
