Elisabeth Bridge, Erzsébet híd, is situated in central Budapest, connecting Ferenciek tere near the famous pedestrian Vaci Street on the Pest side, and Gellert Hill and Castle Hill on the Buda side of the capital. The bridge, named after Queen Elisabeth, was built between 1898 and 1903. It was bombed during the Second World War, and rebuilt in 1961-64 in a more modern style.
