A bath was in operation in the same place where the Lukacs Spa stands today, as early as the 12th century, built by knights to amend their monasteries. At the end of the 19t century, a therapy hotel was built here, and the swimming pool was renovated. In 1979, the first daytime hospital of Budapest – offering complex spa therapy treatments, started its operation. Following additional renovation, today’s spa welcomes guests with a large park and 8 pools.
The thermal pool, the men’s and women’s swimming pool, and the adventure pool is open every day from 6am until 7pm on weekdays, closing at 5pm on weekends. The therapy section is open on weekdays only. The spa is located close to the Buda side of Margaret bridge, easy to reach by bus 6, 60 or 68, tram 4-6 and 17, or the suburb train (HEV) connecting Batthyany square and Szentedre.
