The Hungarian National Museum is located in downtown Pest, in between Astoria and Kalvin Square, along the Museum Ring. Archaeological, historical and ethnical relics of the Hungarian nation, collected over the last two hundred years, are displayed in permanent and special exhibitions. The museum’s classic building was completed in 1847. Sculptures on the tympanum, as well as interior wall-paintings depict allegorical figures of art and scholarship.
