The new building of the National Theatre is situated in the 9th district of Budapest, right by the Danube on the Pest side, south of downtown, by the Lagymanyosi Bridge. The main entrance overlooks Gellert Hill across the river. Built between 2000 and 2002, the modern facility includes a large indoor stage and smaller stages, an outdoor stage, variuos function rooms, and nice court areas.
