The Papp Laszlo Budapest Sportarena is situated on the Pest side of the capital, somewhat east of downtown. The arena was finished in 2003, and accommodates up to 12.500 guests. The floorspace is sectionable, but can be enlarged to 8000sqm. State-of-the-art lightning and sound technical equipment is available. Apart from sport events, the facility is ideal for exhibitions, conferences, concerts and family programs.
The Budapest Sportarena was named after Laszlo Papp, the famous Hungarian boxing star in the spring of 2004. The pebble-shaped building is covered by granite, its large terrace offers a unique panorama view on the neighbourhood. The sport museum, the cafeteria and the ticket office can be accessed through the terrace. As the M2 metro line, as well as the nr.1 tram line is right by the arena, it is easily accessible by public transportation.
