The Puskas Ferenc Stadium is situated on the Pest side of the capital, between the Stadionok and the Keleti Palyaudvar (Eastern Railway Station) stations of the red (M2) metro line. Originally called Nepstadion, it was finished in 1953, and hosted many outstanding sport events during that decate. The Hungarian National Team uses it as a training facility.
The stadium was named after Ferenc Puskas, the legendary soccer player, in 2002. The stadium can accommodate close to 70.000 spectators. The field is primarily used for soccer games, but occassional open-air events and mega concerts are also held.
