The village of Sirok is located on the eastern slope of the Matra Hill, in Heves county, at the northern part of Hungary. The hill by the village welcomes visitors with unique castle ruins. The castle was built in the 13th century, replacing a mud fort. When the Turkish troops were unsuccessful in taking Eger in 1552, the castle fort in Sirok gained military significance, and was expanded. When Eger fell, the Turks took this fort as well, and had it for 90 years. Due to blasting by the emperor�s troops after the Rakoczi freedom fight, the castle fell into ruins. Still, it is a unique site, and can be freely visited. Under the castle, an extensive dungeon system remained, accessible to this day.

The Park Hotel Erzsebet was built in 1893 according to the design of the famous Hungarian architect Miklos Ybl.
