Hungarian Aviation History Museum - Szolnok

The town of Szolnok is located in the middle of the great Hungarian Plain, in eastern Hungary, at a 110-kilometres distance from Budapest, on the shore of the Tisza River. The town is rich in natural and cultural sites. At the end of August, when the Tisza flower blooms, a festival is held annually. Architectural sites include bridge ruins from Turkish times, the fort church and the building of the county library.
The town is rich in museums as well. Apart from an art gallery, a regional house, an aqua museum and the Damjanich Museum, Szolnok includes the Hungarian Aviation History Museum, exhibiting historic military and civil aeroplanes and technical equipment in a coliseum and on open-air ground. The museum is open from the beginning of April until the end of October, every day except for Monday.
