The Bratislava Castle, or Bratislavsky Hrad, is located on an isolated rocky hill of the Little Carpathians directly above the Danube river in the middle of Bratislava. It is an outstanding feature of the city, and provides an excellent view of the Slovak capital and its surroundings. The castle building includes 4 towers and a courtyard with an 80 m deep water well. The largest is called the Crown Tower, built in the 13th century. From the main entrance an archade corridor and a large Baroque staircase leads to the Slovak National Museum. The Treasure Chamber with precious archeological findings is located in the southern part of the building, while the northern part, the former Baroque chapel, houses the Music Hall, where concerts are held. An English park is located to the south of the stable. The historical museum is open every day except for Monday, from 9am until 5pm.
