St. Martin´s Cathedral, the Dom svateho Martina is situated at the western border of the historical city center below the Bratislava Castle. It is the largest and finest, as well as one of the oldest churches in the Slovak capital, unique for being the coronation church of the Kingdom of Hungary in earlier centuries, from 1563 until 1830. Today, it is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Bratislava. On the top of its 85m high tower, the replica of the Hungarian Crown sits on a three times four metre stone pillow. Another famous statue is that of St. Martin and the Beggar, the artwork of Raphael Donner. The cathedral can be visited freely all year around, every day from 10am until 5pm.
