Music and fun in the Hungarian capitalAnother year, another Sziget Festival – only one week away, the busiest event of the Hungarian summer will delight international audiences once again. From August the 8th until the 15th the most entertaining island of the capital, Obudai-sziget awaits all generations for a week of music and fun. The most famous performers will be seen on the main stage, and the festival starts with one of the biggest stars of pop music: seven-time Grammy winner, Prince, will sing his best known hits here on the very first day. He will be followed by names like Pulp, Good Charlotte, The Chemical Brothers, Skunk Anansie, The Prodigy and Manic Street Preachers. But other parts of the island will be worth a visit as well, as every genre will be represented from symphonic music to folk songs, from jazz to heavy metal: in this eclectic mix beloved Hungarian artists will be joined by Gotan project, Goran Bregovic Wedding and Funeral Band, Judas Priest, Ampire of the Sun, Zombie Nation, Boban Markovic Orkestar and Motörhead. A total of six big stages and dozens of smaller venues will host concerts, parties and games, and as always foreign tourists will be able to taste local meals and drink specialties in many outdoor food tents. Visitors will also be able to try extreme sports, watch films, learn traditional crafts and talk to the representatives of many world organizations.
