Debrecen Zoo

Debrecen is located in eastern Hungary, as second the second largest city, center of that region. Sights in town include various historic churches, the town house, multiple museums, as well as a nice recreational area, called Nagyerdo � Large Wood.
The Zoo of Debrecen, called the culture park of the large wood, was the first rural zoo in Hungary, when it opened in 1958. The zoo covers 7 hectares, adjoined by a fun park on another 7 hectares. Unique features include the exhibition of protected local fish species. The zoo is open all year round, each day from 9am until 6pm during the summer season, and 4pm during the winter.
