The Rezi Castle is located on a high cliff in the Keszthely Hills, near the village of Rezi, northwest of Lake Balaton. The Castle has never played an important role as a fort, and changed owner rather often during its existence. For the most part of the 15th century, it belonged to the Petho family. In the middle of the 16th century, Turkish troops invaded and burned the castle, which did not get rebuilt afterwards. It has been a few years only since the work of excavation and restoration has begun on the site.
