+ Room, kitchen and bathroom were always clean when we got back. The receiption was very friendly and cooperative and helped us in any possible way. the location was good, it wasnt so far from MOM park and you could walk to the city center very fast.

+ staff were brill, very attentive, room cleaned every day excellent cleaning and reception staff. food was good also. not far to walk to city centre and good bus service. liked having the kitchen also for longer stays.

- The noise from the traffic was a problem. It would have been nice to have a bar in the hotel as well as a restaurant.

- The first night, I stayed in a room without AC (then moved to a deluxe room with AC). The one night of the total of 9 nights of my stay I had to keep windows open and the noise was terrible for most of the day and night. I recommend installing AC and double-glazed windows in all rooms to really upgrade this aspect to the excellent level of all other aspects of this hotel.

- Watch out not to stay on the noisy side of the hotel. The sheets were too small for the beds and kept slipping off in the night while sleeping.

+ It is hard to find a place that caters for family with young children, a place that we can all stay in the same room/apartment. In hotel Charles it was possible. Friendly, helpfull staff. It has a nice friendly atmosphere where we could relax (especially with kids) and enjoy our holiday.

+ The staff were very helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived, also found the food in the restaurant of very high quality and good service etc. the buffet breakfats also rated wery high with all the group we were travelling with.
- Unfortunately we were there when Budapest was having a heatwave 42C and the rooms could have done with air conditioning, but they did provide a very adequate fan in all the rooms.

- The look of the hotel, which is typical of the Communist era - but I realize there is not much you can do about that short of renovating the hotel (which would result in a major price increase). I was also annoyed by the noise level coming from the street - but again, not much you can do about that.

- Two suggestions to improve an incredibly good service - the dining room provided the best dinner that I had in Budapest. I was not aware that I had to pay separately from my account and that caused some embarrassment. it would be simple to state that it is a searate account on the introductory offer. I was on the first floor and my best access to wireless was via the restaurant and not the hotel. It may be useful if future guests on Level 1 realise this.
