Brennbergbanya - Mining Museum

Brennenbergbanya is located southwest of Sopron, at the feet of the Alps, in western Hungary, close to the Austrian border. The village was a major mining town of the country for over two centuries. It was the deepest mine with high pressure and many challenges, both technological and human.
The Mining Museum is set up in the hall of the first hauler pit with a steam engine. The exhibition recalls the establishment and the development of the mine, and displays accessories of mining, as well as the furnishing of a typical miner's cottage.
