Irott-ko (stone with writing) is located on the Austrian-Hungarian border, close to the town of Koszeg, right by Velem township. In German, it is called Geschriebenstein. With its 884 meters above sea level, it is the highest point of the Koszeg-mountain range, and of western Hungary. This is the western end of the national blue line hiking tour.
The look-out was built in 1903. Until 2003, there was a border crossing station here for tourists arriving on foot and by bicycle. The nearby Velem township includes a wood-carving shop and a St. Vids church. Irott-ko Look-out - nearest hotels
