Jaszbereny is located in the northern part of the region between the Danube and the Tisza � Hungary�s two major rivers, on the banks of the Zagyva River, at an 80-km distance east of Budapest. The university town has a rich cultural life, including programs such as the International Dance House and Music Camp, the Csango Festival, the National Honey Fair, and the Summer in Jaszbereny festivity.
The Jaszbereny Zoo is the only one in Hungary, which is not located in or by a major city. The zoo and botanical garden includes smaller animals in natural surroundings, and puts great emphasis on education in natural sciences.
