Kekesteto includes the highest elevation point in Hungary. It is located in the Matra Mountain, in the northern part of the country. At the feet of the TV tower, the red-white-yellow stone signals 1014 meters above sea level.
The unique high level mountain beech tree forest provides habitat to various rare animals and vegetation, so the northern side of the mountain, as well as the Sasko (Eagle�s wing stone) area is under protection, belonging to the Matra Nature Conservation Area. The Park Hotel Erzsebet was built in 1893 according to the design of the famous Hungarian architect Miklos Ybl.
