Tokaj - Wine Cellars

The town of Tokaj is located in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen County, at the conjunction of the Tisza and the Bodrog rivers, at a 54-kilometers distance from Miskolc. The Tokaj wine region is the first closed vineyard region of the world. Situated at the feet of the Zemplen Mountain, its 6202ha ground is now part of the World Heritage.
Tokaj now looks back to centuries of winery traditions. Wine is kept in wooden barrels, lined up in long cellar labirinths. The most famous downtown cellar row is located on Bem Street, which is also called the street of the old wine merchants, but the lover's cellar row and the cellars of the holiday resort draw many visitors as well.
