+ The staff was excellent and nice. The room was spacious. We had a lovely two- day holiday. The room was worth the money we paid.
- There were just small things like torn curtains, spots on the carpet or broken ventilator in the bathroom that we didn´t like.And water in the shower flew slowly through the drain pipe. Breakfast was rich and fresh but a bit expensive.

+ The room was excellent. The reception as well as breakfast crew were very polite, helpful and professional, even with a 14month old baby they were very tolerant and helpful. The location was 20 minutes by foot from city centre, no problems pushing a pram in the area.

+ The staff was very helpful and provided a lot of services- help booking a tour, travel arrangements, directions, etc. Also, the hotel was right on the bus line which made it really easy to get around.
- The staff did try to push the hotel restaurant a little much, which made it hard to get food recommendations from them. We were only in Budapest for a couple of days and really wanted to get out into the city rather than eat there.

+ The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and were willing to go out of their way to offer any assistance required. They also found the time for a more personal, friendly chat which really made us feel welcome. They were exceptional, and we have every intention of returning some time in the future!
- I think it would be good to have a few teabags and a little bit of coffee so the guests can make a cup for themselves in the morning when they wake up.

+ I had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet, well heated, fairly spacious and most importantly of all, it was spotlessly clean. The small kitchenette with its two ring stove and minibar was an added bonus and was great for preparing snacks. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel restaurant is excellent. All in all, the Hotel Charles offers great value for money.
- The only criticism I have is that the decor was a little dated.

- The rooms were a bit dated, but comfortable, and although there is a lift, it is a little hard getting up the stairs with a pram, 2 kids and luggage. There aren't a lot of stairs to the lift, but even a few are difficult when you have two kids, etc...

Budapest is beutiful city and its worth to spent time and money.
- we stayed for 4 nights and we never had a fresh sheets only change of towels and they never clean the toilet sink and the bathtub(shower), the room was too dusty, bed are too low.

- I would not say I was dissatisfied with anything but a small point I wish to raise is that I found the breakfast quite expensive compared to the rate of the room. The daily rate applied to the car park is also bit high. I felt that sleeping in the hotel was much less expensive than having breakfast or parking my car.

- No towel racks in the bathroom. That's the only major minus I could find. The breakfast room is a bit small. Biggest issue is the location - the hotel is located on a fast and noisy road. If you like to sleep with your windows open, ask for a room on the side street. Still noisy, but bearable.

- Roadworks outside our window. We had room towards the railwaytrack in april 06. They were also refurbishing rooms which caused some noice in the morning. Of course the refurbishment will be to your advantage if they are done!.

+ Staff were exceptionally friendly. Made us feel wanted, even with young kids; while struggling with buggies, breakfast in morning and dining in evening.
- The room looked like it could have been dusted down a bit better. Perhaps it was the opening weekend of a new tourist season... it had that feel. Just little things like blinds not working, a few blown bulbs and plug repair needed in kitchenette (which was very good incidentally). But of course the staff were immediately attentive to these things also.

- The bed sheets were too short for the bed. The sheets would not stay in place during an evenings rest. The shower stall water outlet was too lose. It would not point at the showerer. I put a spoon under it to repoint it. The inroom staff should have noticed this and corrected it. These are minor things that could be corrected if an inspection was periodically performed by management.

- The only disadvantage of the hotel was for us the location. If you want to go to the centre of pest you have to take the bus.(which aren't that comfortable in Budapest)

- Location. There's just no way you can walk home from the other side becuase of the highway system! Have to rely on the night bus and taxis.
