Bukkszek is located in Heves County, in Northern Hungary, close to Eger and Sirok. The settlement draws many visitors with its thermal water, springing from 540 metres deep. The water has various healing effects, and is used for the local spa, as well as for bottling.
The Salvus Thermal Spa and Beach is open from May 1st until August 31st, from 10am on Mondays, and 8am during the rest of the week, until 5pm in May and June, and until 7pm in July and August. The Park Hotel Erzsebet was built in 1893 according to the design of the famous Hungarian architect Miklos Ybl. After the complete reconstruction the hotel was reopened for the guests in February 2002. The hotel is located in the middle of the old park of two hectares.
