Cserszegtomaj is located north of Keszthely, at the northwestern corner of Lake Balaton, in West-Hungary. The settlement exists since the Roman era, the population earned its main living from vineyards throughout history. Today, local sights include a Cave Theatre, the St. Anne�s Chapel, the Margit Look-out Tower, and the Botanic Garden.
The Cserszegtomaj Botanical Garden is situated right by the town, toward Keszthely. The area was bought by Jeno Horvath in 1966, with the purpose of establishing a collection of pine trees. Visitors can now observe 200 kinds of pine and evergreen trees on 20 hectares. The garden is open from the beginning of March until the end of October on weekdays.
