The town of Heviz, world-famous for its spa, is located in Zala County, in western Hungary, north of Lake Balaton. The region has a nice Mediterranean microclimate, and has been populated since pre-historic times. The Romans built mansions with central heating. The present spa was originally built at the end of the 18th century, and has been rebuilt and renovated from time to time. Today, the Heviz Spa offers up to date technology and services to match its wonderful natural resources.
The Heviz Spa Lake, with its 4.44 hectares water surface, sits on a 60.5 hectares nature conservation area. In the lake�s fountain cave, various springs of different water temperature mix together, and reach the lake through a narrow tunnel.
