The Albert Flórián Stadium is situated in the southern part of downtown Budapest, on the Pest side, at the conjunction of Üllői Street and the Róbert Károly Ring. The stadium, built in 1971-74, is used by the Ferencváros, popularly called FTC or Fradi, soccer team. Earler, another stadium stood in the same place, built in 1911. Flórián Albert was a famous soccer player in the 1960’s, the stadium was named after him in 2007. Today, it can accommodate 18 thousand people on the stands, but extensive renovation is planned for 2010-2012, resulting in stands holding 23 people, and in additional shops and recreational facilities.
