Arpad Bridge, Árpád híd, is situated in the northern part of Budapest, connecting the two parts of the Hungarian capital at a place where the Romans had a bridge as well, then between Aquincum and the legion camp across the Danube river. Today’s bridge stands just north of downtown Budapest, touching the northern edge of Margaret Island. The bridge was built between 1939 and 1950, renovated in 1969, and enlarged in between 1980 and 1984.
