The Transportation Museum and the Hungarian Technical Museum was combined to form the Hungarian Technical and Transportation Museum, located in the City Park of Budapest. Permanent exhibitions include a historical overview of railway-, car-, motorbicycle-, aircraft-, city public-, carriage-, and bicycle transportation, as well as a hall of celebrities. The combined entrance ticket, available for purchase at the main building, is also valid for the air- and space travel exhibition, and the technical study stacks located at the Buda side of the Lágymányosi Bridge.
The exhibitions are open every day except for Mondays, from 10am until 5pm on weekdays, 6pm on weekends during the main season (end of March through the end of October), and closing at 4pm on weekdays and on 5pm on weekends during the off-season. The data base and the archives, as well as the museum library can also be visited, from 10am until 4pm Tuesday through Thursday, except for the month of August. The museum is easy to access by public transportation, Ajtósi Dürer stop of the 1 tramline, or on either of the following trolleybus lines: 70, 72, 74.
