Madach Theatre is located in the 7th district of Budapest, on Erzsebet Boulevard, in between Blaha Lujza Square and the Oktogon. The original Madach Theatre was established at the beginning of the 20th century, in a section room of the Musical Academy. The theatre company moved to its present location in 1961, and the building was throughly renovated at the end of the century. The performances are mainly musicals and comedies.
