The Romai Beach is situated on the northern part of Old Buda, on the Danube bank, right along the road connecting Budapest and Szentendre. Centuries ago, a lake was located in this place, and a hospital was build during the reign of King Matthias Rex. Today’s beach was opened in 1964, and was renovated in 2000. Today’s guests may enjoy a beach pool, a children’s pool, a swimming pool, a large shady park, water slides and a Finnish sauna.
The beach is open from the end of May until the end of August, every day from 9am until 8pm. By public transportation, it is accessible on bus 34 or 106, or by the suburb train (HEV) leaving from Batthyany square.
