The Amusement Park of Budapest is located in the City Park, next to the Circus, close to the Budapest ZOO and the Széchenyi Spa. The Amusement Park was established in the 1950’s, when the former English Park and the neighbouring side-show was combined and enlarged, after the pattern of the Gorkij Park in Moscow. Ongoing modernisation and reorganisation followed to keep the park attractive to visitors seeking to have fun and entertainment. Attractions now include a cave railroad, break dance, electric cars, jungle park, enchanted castle, flying circus, spinning coaster, top can, top spin and sky flyer.
The amusement park starts the pre-season in the middle of March, opening for week-ends from noon until 6pm. In April, weekday hours include 11-18, the weekend hours are 10-18. The main season is from May until August, the park is then open from 10am until 8pm, except for weekdays in May, when it opens at 11am and closed at 6pm. Following the season, it is open from 11am until 7pm on weekdays, from 10am until 1:30 at night on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10am until 8pm on Sundays in September. In October, it is open during the fall school break only, from non until 6pm on weekdays, and from 10am until 6pm on weekends. By public transportation it is easy to access on the M1 metro line, or trolley bus line 72, to Széchenyi Fürdő – Széchenyi Spa stop.
