The Hungaroring is located just outside of Mogyorod, in between Budapest and Godollo, not far from the freeway M3. It sits in a valley, surrounded by 50 hectares of rolling hillside. The circuit was built in 1986, and a few alterations have been made since then, to make it faster, and to give extra overtaking opportunities for the drivers. The ring is unique not only for its speed, but also almost 80 percent of the racetrack is visible for the spectators.
The 70-circuit Formula 1 ING, part of the World Championship, is held here annually in early August. In addition, Hungaroring hosts a great variety of other races and motor sport events.
